Every nerd wishes for the same thing on their 8th birthday– some astronomically priced LEGO set that no reasonable parent could afford. Of course when we were little, we never realized that the smallest Tai Fighter battle pack cost almost $50 and the Millennium Falcon we had our eye on carried a $850 ticket. Sorry mom and dad, we just have expensive taste.
Now that you're older and have your own income, it's hard to justify a LEGO purchase like that, but quite frankly, our expensive hobbies are what keep us going every day. So yes, you have the 7,541 piece LEGO space ship built and showcased in your living room and there are days where you simply stare at her beauty and majesty, opening the hatches of your own assembly and feeling the glory of success. LEGO is one of those addicting hobbies, not because of the price but because of the satisfaction it brings when we've finally broken every finger nail splitting bricks, stepped on at least 100 plastic corner pieces, and nearly given up our will to survive because we lost the instruction sheet halfway through our build. The hardships are what make LEGO a priceless artifact in your home. So whether you're 8 years old or 45, the bricks will always call to you.
