This college is not a fan of "meaninglessly easy" courses, so they put some rules in place to halt them. However, this posed a problem for this professor, Paul, whose students actually did too well in their college class.
U/Positive-Character98 shared a story to the r/MaliciousCompliance community. The story belongs to the professor at their college, who had to deal with some rules from higher-ups. Some rules have a good reason for being in place. These were intended to stop students from enrolling in easy A classes.
Basically, the university doesn't want the professors to make their courses so easy that every single person passes with an A+. Not every student puts in equal effort — there are homework assignments, points for showing up for class, and lots of courses require you to meet your prof at their office hours to discuss papers. And if you've ever been to a college course even once, you know that some students will nap their way through the lesson, while others don't bother to show up. While it makes sense that the college should enforce some type of rule to make grading fair, it seems like this professor was a more inconvenienced by the rule than helped by it.
Next up, these 25 designs need to go back to the drawing board as soon as possible.
