Some say that success is the best revenge. I've often taken a similar stance of placated vengeance, where you don't need to take direct action against a person. It's said that the strongest backlash is when you are able to elevate your own self to a level that your enemy will never achieve. In the retail world, this kind of revenge is unbeatable, using your rank to outweigh any sort of animosity and effectively shutting down the competition with one glance– and by pulling the rank card.

The supervisor had a voiceless vendetta against OP and continually snubbed their career until OP found the most epic revenge in the form of self-elevation. After getting demoted by the bitter supervisor, OP went off to find success elsewhere– in the corporate sector. Using their newfound success and sublime status, OP served up the pettiest revenge by flexing their newfound power over their old boss.
