Never has a single fictional world blown me away like The Elder Scrolls franchise has. As a kid I was always using my imagination to create make-believe universes and lore with legos, stuffed animals, and dolls, inspired by fantasy epics like Lord of the Rings and The Wizard of Earthsea. It was no surprise to anyone in my family that I became totally enthralled by video games after we got our first console. Later in my youth, when I discovered that there was a whole other side of gaming beyond just Spyro and Crash Bandicoot, my appetite for rich storylines and complex, expansive lore grew stronger, and Morrowind satisfied that need, big time. I made my way through the series until finally Skyrim captivated me on a whole other level with its unmatched world building. I was absolutely hooked.
