While it is true that, most of the time, our cats are calm and docile and sleepy… cats do have their moments sometimes. This little creature that sleeps most of the day will surprise you with insane outbursts of energy every once in a while. And one of the times that happens is… at the vet's office. Ridiculous things often happen with cats at the vet's office. We've heard the stories. Cats have various reactions to going to the vet. Some cats will try running away from the vet, other cats will look for places to hide at the vet's, and… other cats will take the spicy route.
And when cats turn spicy at the vet's office… they get the cone of shame. Or the hiss bowl. Or the astronaut globe. This contraption has many names, and each one of them is more hilarious than the previous. Trust us, by the time you finish reading this thread, you will be uncontrollably giggling and shaking your head.

To us, from the outside, this looks absolutely ridiculous and kind of hilarious, but we wish we knew what the heck our cats think when this happens to them. Considering how much they like sticking their little heads into bags and boxes and anything else they can fit in, maybe this is even fun for them.

We do love the methods that vets have to use to deal with spicy animals like this. Sometimes, animals get the cone of shame like this kitty did. Other times, the animal gets purritoed, which is hilarious and adorable. Sigh, if it didn't require many, many years of medical school, we would have also loved to have become vets.
