For this week's challenge, we decided to laugh at some of the struggles of being cat owners. Because there are many, and although some are very real and very concerning and should be taken very seriously, some of them… are absolutely hissterical. So, we asked you to tell us about the funniest experience you had with your cat at the vet's office.
People think that there really aren't very many struggles to being a cat owners. All they do is sleep and eat all day, right? Wrong. They sleep and eat most day, but the rest of the time they use to drive us insane. Cats have random zoomies at the most inconvenient times, cats bust into our Zoom calls exactly when we're talking to our bosses. Cats steal food right off our plates without any shame whatsoever. It's difficult, but it's totally 100% worth it. Because cats are purrfect.
"I have a litter of feral kittens who were born on my property. Took them in for TNR when they were 6 months old. None of them were even a little tame yet, but Mini, the smallest and a sweet grey tortie, was the friendliest with me, and I knew she was going to be my love. Well, at all of 4 pounds, she escaped when they tried to anesthetize her. They chased her all over the clinic and finally trapped her in a closet, where she climbed the shelves to the very top. They eventually caught her and got her spayed, but she fought everyone, biting and hissing. It took them hours to catch her and sedate her. When I came to get her, they told me she was totally untamable and the most vicious feral they'd ever seen ! THIS is my Mini now."
"This is my first cat Marie who will always be my baby. I had to find a new vet to bring her to because she flat out attacked the first vet I went to. She was never aggressive to anyone before so I was shocked when this happened. Don't know why she did this because she was never aggressive to another vet again. I miss her so much. She was 18 when she passed away in 2015."
"Took my cat in for her semiannual check up. She usually pees in her carrier on the way there, so end up leaving her to get a urine sample. This one time she didn't, so her Vet took her in the back quickly to try to get it. I heard a big commotion, and then some laughing. Apparently, when the Vet Tech pulled her out of the carrier she started peeing. Her Vet told me, very proudly, she caught a good size sample in her hands. This is the donor."
