Anyone who has ever connected with a shelter dog knows just how amazing they truly can be. And if you've ever adopted one, nothing is more inspiring than seeing them go from fearful to happy and loving. Seriously, I've fostered five different dogs and some of them felt like lost causes, but with patience and lots of love, they blossom into the most wonderful companions. So why is it that shelters are always full of dogs? Why aren't people running to go adopt all those good boys and girls??
One shelter in Marion, Ohio took to social media to try and get their pups adopted. If you thought those ASPCA "in the aaaaaarms of an aaaangel" commercials were heartbreaking, wait until you watch these videos. The shelter started posted a series of videos that showed their happy puppies and then explained their sob story. Many of these dogs looked sad, yet still filled with hope to find their furever families. Then in text it would explain how they ended up in the shelter. Many were surrendered because the owner said they were moving and couldn't take them, while others have even more heartbreaking stories.
You'd think watching these would make you rue the day you became part of this thing called "humanity"—but hold off on that existentialist dread! It turns out that these sad videos actually ended up getting some of these dogs adopt. So if anything, these now-viral tear-jerkers show you that light can always be found in darkness.
