They say that by the age of 40, you should have a vendetta against at least one vacation rental company. For some reason, travel always make people turn extra greedy and with all this cash floating around, sometimes hosts of vacation homes lose a sense of genuine hospitality. In this case, one vacationer had to take justice into his own hands when his vacation stay went down the drain– literally.
For all intents and purposes, OP was a very reasonable guest. Upon arrival, he noticed that their rental property had no running hot water and he notified the host immediately. After being reassured that it would be fixed that day by a professional, he set out for a long day of hiking. Eager for a hot shower when he returned, OP was disappointed when the pipes sputtered freezing ice water. After two days of dismissive behavior and evasion, OP had had enough of his host's poor hospitality and nonchalance about the living conditions. Pathetically, the host offered OP a 10% discount on a FUTURE booking, at which point, OP became furious. Why would he ever come back here?
