This waiter works at an upscale place where the customers are used to getting whatever they desire. As many waiters will tell you, working at high end restaurants can be intense, but it's worth it for the giant tips that some rich folks will leave. Part of the intensity is working with people who are used to snapping their fingers and immediately getting what they want. These customers aren't patient, and some of them view wait staff as beneath them.
The customer u/grayson1228 served seems particularly awful. A couple came in and were already upset before they even sat down (they didn't want to wait to be seated). Things didn't improve once they were seated. The couple started to berate the waiter for everything they could think of, including personal jabs about their appearance. The OP still managed to be patient during the encounter, but they definitely got back at that diner, thanks to the cooperation of their coworkers. Customers seem to underestimate just how much waitstaff stick together, and how little they care about the feelings of unpleasant customers.
Next up, these ordinary people shared their wildest confessions, like one person who was paid hundreds to sit in on a phone call, only to spend their time doodling.
