I'm afraid Twitter has not been faring well lately under the management of Elon Musk. It seems like every new idea he has came from a binder that was labeled "THINGS TWITTER INC SHOULD NEVER DO." Despite it all, the website keeps marching on, with schmucks like me who can't quit the bird app staying perpetually loyal to her.
One of the more recent features that hasn't yet gone up in flames is the Community Notes feature. Basically, regular users can fact-check claims made in other people's tweets, and if it gets approved, the fact-checking will show up under the original tweet. It primarily functions as a means of preventing misinformation, but recently Twitter users have been getting a bit sassy with it. Sometimes, the community note can make a previously unremarkable untruth into a hilarious meme just by pointing out the obvious, and these are a couple of iconic examples of that phenomenon.
