The first ever dog-fox hybrid was found in Brazil recently, and the implications of it are very, very cool. This is the first ever successful natural cross-breeding that we know of in either the wild or in lab testing. Although we dreamed of such amazing animal hybrids when we were kids, we never thought we would actually see the day when it happened. The hybrid was discovered after it was hit by car, and then immediately taken to the vet to give it proper care.
It turns out that one of the parents was a specific animal called a "false fox", which are more closely related to wolves than foxes (which are closer genetically to cats), but they look a lot like your everyday fox. Researchers didn't get the chance to see if the hybrid was able to reproduce, which is a common dysfunction in rare hybrids. If they can, we may have a new adorable pet breed on our hands that everyone will be obsessed with!

Maybe a bat was also thrown into this mix, because its face here looks very bat-like. You know that picture of the bat rolled up like a little burrito, eating fruit? Yeah, their faces look exactly alike! (If you don't get this reference, we highly recommend for you to google baby bats, they're adorable!)
Wow. Wow! We need one right now, how much money do we need to pay to adopt one? We're willing to give up our whole bank account and maybe max out a few credit cards. Do you think it will be enough?
