These employees were totally baffled by their CEO's recent decision. At least according to their update, they got some amazing results from a bad situation.
U/ACFF has an amazing story to tell the r/MaliciousCompliance community. It involves their bosses making a major change to their jobs, without realizing what they were actually doing. This happens so often with CEOs who barely do their job. Even though they make millions of dollars per year, some c-suite execs barely ever make it into the office.
If you've ever been in a company where the CEO makes seven figures while you make five, you know how infuriating it is to see their office collecting dust. I just think if you make millions of dollars, you should have to do a lot of work. In reality, the lower-paid you are, the more work you're going to do. Retail workers and service professionals spend long days on their feet, just to make minimum wage. Meanwhile, well-paid CEOs get to take five vacations per year and maybe do a few Zoom calls every now and then.
If I were ever a CEO of a company, I'd first relish in my power, complete with evil laughter, that someone would ever be so foolish to entrust me with this task. Then, I'd divide everyone's pay equally. Oh you're making $300k? No sweetie, we're all making $300k now. We are fully seizing the means of production, okay? We're all getting two months of vacation each year; four day workweeks and six hour work days. Sure, this would run this business into the ground with haste, but I'm meant to be an agent of chaos, not a CEO.
