Throughout the course of the working week, you spend roughly 40 hours in the presence of your coworkers. This can be an incredible way to form tight bonds with other like-minded individuals. Throughout your adult life, it's more likely you'll make friends at work than from any other place, unsurprising given you're often spending more time with them than with your own family. But while you'll make some friends, it's more than likely that you'll be spending a lot of time with people who grind your gears, day in and day out.
This worker, employed for a national agricultural supply company, found themself stuck on a work trip with their braggart of a coworker who flew more frequently and therefore had access to the airport lounge. The worker and their other coworkers were growing tired of his constant gloating and boorish bragging. They had some respite from his comments when they split after he departed for the lounge but received a text from him asking which gate their plane would be boarding closer to the flight. The flight was actually boarding at gate 4, but the worker responded with "44" instead, intending to fluster the braggart and send him running across the airport. But, when the doors locked and the plane departed, the coworker still wasn't on board. The prank had gone a little further than intended, and the coworker had missed his flight.
