My major revelation from this thread is the fact that a "boot dryer" exists. I mean, it makes complete sense, but for some reason, I have never conceptualized its existence—and this is coming from a guy who wears boots and occasionally has wet boots… I could have used one of these years ago.
But my ignorance regarding boot dryers is not the issue at hand here; rather, it's this family's disagreement regarding the priority of usage of theirs. This husband stood his ground when his wife began insisting that he leave their boot dryer at home, stubbornly refusing to leave it only to find a surprise waiting for him when he arrived to work…
If you've ever had someone who loves you trying to surprise you with something, you've probably faced this: coy suggestions that you should or shouldn't do something that seems out of place or downright ridiculous. If you're dense, obstinate, and literal like me, you've probably ended up exactly where this guy is… Looking like a total twit for being difficult or impudent to the person who was just trying to do something nice for you and surprise you with a gift.
See the original thread below, as shared by the husband, followed by the judgments passed by readers against him.
