For the vast majority of the population, living with a spouse inevitably leads to arguments. Sure, there are the lucky few who really hit the jackpot when it comes to compatibility, but for most of us normal folk, relationships are hard work. One person is always going to prioritize cleaning a little more than the other. My boyfriend and I have a very simple system for this very reason. I like things nice and tidy, and while he does too, he does take it as earnestly as I do, nor does he feel the need to get up at 3 a.m. to take out the trash if he catches a whiff of the garbage when he's up for a late-night snack.
