Font - Saw a post about someone getting crushed rail riding at a Death Grips show recently and they admitted to being new to the concert experience. I have had fun riding the rail at some shows but usually not big rowdy ones.
  • 04
Font - I recommended seeking out a spot in front of the sound booth, there is usually more room and a decent view, also sound is usually optimized for that area so it will sound decent if the techs are doing their job well.

Smile - What is your go to advice for having a good show as a paying concert attendant?

Font - amorningofsleep. 19 hr. ago Bandcamp Wear earplugs. Help pick someone up if you see them fall down. Really that's all the rules needed for shows.

Font - rekt Myself. 17 hr. ago Ear plugs for sure. Don't get into a fight you are not involved with. Let security know.

Font - BonnaroovianSky . 19 hr. ago Show up for the opening acts! Even if you don't know anything about them, it's absolutely worth checking them out. Worst case scenario is you don't like them.

Font - You can dance if want to! Or sing along! Or not! Be present and let the music flow through you. you If you want to take photos/video: 1. Please make it quick 2. NO FLASH!
  • 14
Font - Everyone else has been saying it, but it bears repeating: Get yourself some ear protection. It's the best investment a young live music fan can make.
  • 15
Font - SweetCosmic Pope. 18 hr. ago I'll add a benefit to the opening acts. Usually you can get a better spot on the floor during and between the opening acts. The people who get stuck in the back are

Font - Seriously, I go to concerts alone all the time. I go to metal shows so it's a bit different but I get separated from anyone I go with anyway. And no one is gonna notice or give a sh that you're there alone.
  • 19
Font - Plus you don't have to leave early because your buddy's new girlfriend is tired and complaining or any of that sh.
  • 20
Font - I mean, go with your friends. But just like, don't NOT go to a show you want to just because no one else is interested or free.

Font - and the difference immediately after the show is amazing. Seriously, pick up even cheap ear plugs. You can still hear the show just fine, and you can adjust the plugs if you want to increase the volume more or less.

Font - Number 2 is to be a good person. Everyone is there to enjoy the same show. Be kind, helpful, and accommodating when you can be.
  • 27
Font - Last, enjoy the show. You want to dance? Dance. You want to sing? Sing. Don't be obnoxious to others, but enjoy the show how you want to and don't worry what you look like. You've got a couple hours to shut off the rest of the world and just focus on the music you enjoy.
