It was just constant. Every time the phone buzzed, she just had to pick it up and text (probably with her sound on) instead of answering simple questions like "What do you do for a living?" from the inquisitive guy across the table. 

It got to the point where OP could not take it anymore. He went to the bathroom and told himself that if he came back and saw that she was still glued to her phone, he would leave.
