It's rare that literature or movies depict a strong male friendship. Usually these kinds of bonds are portrayed as two dudes, who never make physical contact unless it's to shake hands, never get vulnerable with each other, and never talk about how special they are to each other. However, Lord of the Rings made that a priority. Every LotR fan knows that Frodo and Sam have the most beautiful and epic bromance. You experience it growing and going through turbulence throughout the entire story, but in the end it comes out on top and the ring is destroyed. Maybe the fires of Mount Doom physically destroyed the ring, but in every other way, the ring was destroyed because of the power of friendship Frodo and Sam showed it. Was that what J.R.R. Tolkien was going for? I don't know, I've only seen the movies… But the internet seems to agree and so do the memes below!
