It's easy to be very middle of the road. Most people want to do the bare minimum and get by, and there's nothing necessarily wrong with that. You go to work, you do your job, you go home, and you do nothing. For many people, that's a fulfilling life full of balance! On the other hand, there's nothing like pushing yourself to your limits to see how far you can go. Constantly trying to go above and beyond leads to high highs and low lows, and to me, that's much preferred over constant middling mediocrity. It might lead to some burnout and exhaustion, but it's better than not trying at all. Prioritizing your pleasure at every juncture sounds like a great idea, but in the end, you have so little to show for it.
