Font - Posted by u/MelodramaticQuarter 5 hours ago Wake me with your alarm? Guess my day starts now, too. I (28F) live with my boyfriend (29M) and one roommate (35M) in a house that I own. They both work at the same company, so their workday starts at 6AM.

Organism - I WFH so I sleep/get up pretty much whenever I want. It's worth noting that I am a very light sleeper, and my boyfriend is a fairly heavy sleeper that I usually have to wake despite his alarm. My boyfriend's alarm goes off at 5:30. He

Font - usually gets dressed and heads to work by 5:40, which is fine. In those 10 minutes I'll pack his lunch, make him coffee, and get him set up for the day. My roommate however, has a very loud, blaring alarm that goes off every 5 minutes between 5 and 5:30, when he finally rolls out of bed and gets ready. Even on weekends, he'll sometimes let his alarm go off until 6 until it finally shuts off on its own. It's very annoying.

Font - I have no idea why he sets his alarm to be so loud that the whole house hears it, especially since he's also a light sleeper (supposedly) and has expressed before that me watching TV in my room at night keeps him up, even if I close the door.
  • 05
Font - If the alarm was quieter I wouldn't care, but at that point he wakes my dogs, and he's even woken my boyfriend's daughter (3F) who stays with us on occasion. Needless to say, once that first alarm goes off at 5, I'm awake, and so is everyone else. I don't

Font - toddler being unwillingly woken up at 5AM, but it's not pretty, especially since she usually wakes up between 9:30 and 10. I've asked him a number of times if he could just turn down the alarm a little so he doesn't wake the whole house. He refuses to do so. Cue petty revenge.

Font - My wake up routine usually involves taking a shower, then doing the dishes/cleaning, caring for the dogs, etc. If we have the baby, I'll make breakfast and put on a show for her to watch while she wakes up. Two of my three dogs are fairly large, so they

Font - make noise when I let them out of their crates and feed them. So, the past few days I've been dragging my out of bed at 5, and starting my routine. None of which I do quietly. I'm awake anyway, and it's my house, so I can do what I want.

Font - The toddler will usually fall asleep again on the couch (even if I turn on the TV), so I put a show on for her at a normal volume. At 5. My dogs are energetic so I let them out of their crates to run around. At 5. Dishes? 5AM, baby. TikTok's in the living room? 5 again. Wake me up at 5, that's when my day will start.

Font - I haven't gotten much out of my roommate except for dirty looks and the occasional "why are you awake?" to which I simply respond with, "because you woke me." He's not the sharpest tool in the shed, so he's started to complain that I'm being

Font - petty for no reason. I again suggested for him to turn down the alarm or at least lessen the frequency, but he's refused to do so. Guess we'll all just keep waking up at 5. Except for my boyfriend, of course. He can sleep through virtually anything. Bless his heart. I should go wake him.

Font - SLJ7 5 hr. ago Ok, you're fine with being awake early: Since your moronic roommate doesn't give a s about waking the entire house including a child, wait until the kid isn't staying with you and wake up extra early to turn on some loud AF music. Like, 3 AM early.

Font - Also, You own the house. Why is this e still in it? That is so wildly inconsiderate it boggles my mind. Reply Share... 634 MelodramaticQuarter OP 4 hr. ago Also, You own the house. Why is this ole still in it? Ugh, it's such a long, convoluted story but basically he's staying with us as a favor to a long time friend of mine. His six months run out in December, though, and then he's out.

Font - SLJ7 4 hr. ago Can you talk to that friend and tell him to tell his friend to stop being a giant buttnugget?
  • 15
Organism - MelodramaticQuarter OP 4 hr. ago Again, it's pretty convoluted. Yes, technically. But my roommate is the type to go and tattle-tale on EVERYONE who does him wrong to this friend (he doesn't have any other friends, I wonder why), and

Font - my friend works hard and deals with a lot. The last thing I want is to put something this petty on his shoulders when I can handle it perfectly well myself and the curse will be over by the new year anyways.

Rectangle - Tires_N_Wires. 4 hr. ago You don't owe anyone rude anything, especially not a guest in your house. Tell your friend "this guy is a jerk, he is out of here, period."

Rectangle - TDLMTH 4 hr. ago For the sake of the remaining two months, it doesn't sound like it's worth the effort.

Font - 1st Eleven 3 hr. ago I think it's time to remind him, repeatedly and clearly, that he needs to move out then. Do not give him the ability to have an excuse for anything. He sounds like the kind of guy that would just stick around.

Font - WhoKnew Homesteading 3 hr. ago Make sure he has written 30 day notice to remind him his time is up the end of December. If he refuses to leave that will help you down the road evicting him.

Organism - singerontheside. 2 hr. ago Make sure he KNOWS he is out - best start prepping him now!! "Need some boxes to get packing? - not much time left, you know!!" With your biggest ever cheesy grin

Font - PistolPetunia 5 hr. ago Go in his room when he's not there and gradually turn it down a notch. Reply Share 63 MelodramaticQuarter OP 5 hr. ago It's his phone alarm and he takes his phone with him when he leaves. Besides, his room is a mess and smells bad so I just leave the door shut.

Font - darkwai 1 min. ago So he's inconsiderate, loud, and keeps his room a mess. I have no idea why he has a place in your house. I hope he at least pays rent.
