Internet humor as we know it today is greatly indebted to Twitter. Before that snappy 140 character limit came along, everything was so longwinded and messy. The fact that many of the negative aspects of Twitter today share the same qualities is neither here nor there. The place has seen drama and hilarious moments in equal measure throughout its seventeen year lifespan, and it will undoubtedly give us many more (until Elon manages to crash it for good).

With the way that things are, the best thing we can think to do at Memebase is to continue honoring the former bird app. We do this by sharing some of the more amusing tidbits that it has spat out in the past few weeks. Twitter/X users, you keep doing you. No matter what happens, it doesn't go unappreciated by the droves of us who are looking for some quick and distracting entertainment.
