I hope all of you Star Trek fans reading this are highly jealous to hear that I took a Klingon class in college. I'm sure you've all heard about those wacky colleges in the middle of nowhere having pointless classes, and you can bet your hat that I signed up for the one in my university's linguistics department. It wasn't technically a Klingon class, but a class on fictional languages like Klingon. Believe it or not, some sci-fi franchises actually work hard to make sure their fake languages have all of the elements of a real language, and there are a lot of boxes they need to check. Of course, some shows have their alien characters dictating nonsense, but not Star Trek! Star Trek has been going above and beyond since the very beginning, and we have no choice but to stan.
