Kid's movies (objectively) aren't very good. For film buffs, children's entertainment in general leaves the audience wanting. There are plot holes, painfully obvious narrative developments, and overused themes that make most parents start to lose their marbles a little bit.

After watching one too many Cocomelon episodes, parents can feel their brains short-circuiting from the lack of stimulation.

There's obviously a reason that kid's movies are lackluster and it's basically because their the factory-farm version of an actual film. Since apparently kids are not considered a real, educated audience according to Hollywood execs, kid's entertainment is churned out of the cookie-cutter machine, raking in the most dough with the least effort.

Unfortunately for parents, this means that there's a shortage of half decent entertainment out there that you'll (at the very least) be forced to listen to over the course of your child's rearing. But occasionally, there's a groundbreaking masterpiece hidden inside children's entertainment and those movie gems are absolutely unbeatable. Here are some of the best movies to tug on our heart strings, sneak in jokes, and shake the nostalgia within every parent's heart. Even though they're technically kid's movies, the films below deserve an Oscar and perhaps a second-watch from all you moms and dads out there.
