Without a doubt, you know you've really messed up when you caused someone at a Buddhist retreat to lose their chill. The entire point of these places is to give you an environment where you can enter into your zen and touch inner peace. There's literally no other place where it could be possibly harder to provoke someone. It just goes to show, though, how infuriating it is when people flout the rules and jump queues or do other similar things like cutting in traffic. It's really not that hard to just follow the rules and show strangers the barest amount of respect. In fact, you actually have to go out of your way and put energy into being a menace.
