Giving Our Senior Citizen Cats Some Much-Deserved Love And Affection: ICanHasCheezburger Style

Here at ICanHasCheezburger, we give love to all cats, not just your regular shmegular kitties. We give love to orange cats, especially those ones who share one single braincell… because dumb cats deserve love too. We give love to black cats - our ameowzing voids who, no matter how hard we try, we keep bumping into in the middle of the night. And of course, we give love to senior cats. Because senior cats are awesome and painfully underappreciated. 

And we're not talking just about us, the ICanHas writers. Everyone at ICanHasCheezburger loves senior cats, including our purrfect readers. So, when we asked you guys to tell us about the very best thing about owning a senior cat, we knew you guys were going to give us some amazing answers. But we certainly did not expect quite so many answers. These are just a hint of the pawsome answers you gave us, and we are thankful for each and every one.

    "He passed a bit more than 3 yrs ago..but he was always happy to see me. I found Geralt in a pet rescue site when he was almost 15. His previous owner surrendered him because he had medical issues. I just tired to make this time left as good as possible. He was the goodest of boys."

    "Shiloh is 17 1/2 years old and I have had her since she was 1. She is a talker and has a pretty large vocabulary. Different sounds for different things. She understands a lot of words as well. Surprisingly easy communication with each other. I think this is awesome."

I rescued him when he was 13. I new he would never get adopted if he went to the humane society. He was having issues with his old family. He started using the kitchen sink and counters as a toilet. The previous owners tried everything to help but nothing worked. So I took him. Turned out he had a super bad urinary tract infectio

My girl is very grumpy in her old age and doesn't like to be picked up or cuddled very often, but in the middle of the night I feel her climb up on my bed and curl up right next to my stomach.
