No spiders were harmed in the telling of this story…
A lot of people don't like spiders, and it makes sense; what's not horrifying about something with many legs and too many eyes, complete with a set of monstrous fangs—lurking in the dark corners of our homes with watchful eyes as they guard their clutches that will soon spawn thousands more of them. Further, we've given spiders a place of sheer horror in popular culture, depicting a cartoonish lust for our demise and solidifying their place as the stuff of nightmares.

Still, let's not forget the benefits of having spiders around (and why I leave them be when I see them.) Their sole goal in life is to catch and kill other pesky insects for you, the main benefits being wasps, mosquitoes, and flies. Helping to remove these pests and keep their populations under control. But, even with these benefits in mind, if you or someone you know is afraid of spiders, chances are that every time that person sees one, it's described as “huge,” even if it's the smallest little spider you've ever seen.
Well, this story is about a spider that is actually huge and the terrible neighbor who regretfully stole it.
