Companies have all sorts of silly policies that they require their employees to follow. Some businesses have a dress code, mandatory happy hour "team building" activities, or even limits on the number of plants you can have on your desk, but rarely do you find a company that forces their employees to comply with capital letters. While most would agree that typing in all CAPS comes off aggressively, and in this story, one civilized employee was faced with the screaming text policies of his managers preference.

When it comes to email etiquette, the way you write can easily influence how your message was received. Imagine if you received an email from your kid's elementary school teacher. If it simply said, "We would like to speak with all parents at our PTO meeting this week", you might not have any qualms with showing up to the meeting. But if the email instead said, "WE WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH ALL PARENTS AT OUR PTO MEETING…", it would leave anyone unsettled and concerned. Naturally.
