It seems like these days we are always being encouraged to be better. We're all meant to be pulling ourselves up by bootstraps in the eternal pursuit of happiness, taking supplements and journaling to help us become our optimal self.
Well, sometimes we don't want to contribute to this, or even acknowledge that something better exists at all. We want to lie down and rot with the kind of things that facilitate that rotting. While memes can be a force for good, they are also very adaptable to this kind of purpose. It's a lot of pressure to be always thinking about improvement all the time!
Let's take a moment to regress, with the sweet distraction of internet humor. It's not going to boss us about, or tell us what we really should be doing right now. That's part of the beauty of it, and we have to take the time to appreciate that.
