I do not like to scroll through my old texts. I try not to delete text messages if I can help it because I never know when I need to find some pertinent information like "What's the Netflix password?" I keep texts around just in case someone needs to solve my murder, not because they're stimulating to consume. Sometimes, when I'm scrolling through old pictures, I find screenshots of texts from 2016 and 2017, and I feel the sudden urge to throw my phone across the room. If texts alone could judge moral character, let's just say that I was not an upstanding citizen back then.
Texts aren't the best at indicating tone, so it's understandable that many of them come off as cringe-worthy. On dating apps especially, it's easy to come off too strong unintentionally and spoil the entire interaction. That being said, some people are just rude and cringe, and their texts reflect that. This bunch of cringe texts has a little bit of everything.
