Listen, when it comes to our pets, we all weird things. We talk to our pets… and not like- one word every once in a while. No, we have conversations with them. We sleep with our pets in the same bed… and to you, animal owners, that might sound normal, but we've had people be hella judgy about it before. We even share our food with our pets! Or rather, sometimes, our pets steal food from us. And we think it's funny. Same same. They're a part of our family, and we treat them like so. That's how things should be.
Our pets - our cats, our dogs, our snakes - they're all ours. They're family. So, when we say this twitter thread, saying that a dog owner calls… being with her dog "dogsitting", a strange sensation passed through us. Confusion. Unease. Most confusion. And we had to read more. And the internet… as usual, did not disappoint with their hilarious responses.
We're not sure what bothers us more with this - the implication that this person is perhaps not as close with their dog as we would like them to be or the sheer audacity of using this word in such a way. Regardless though, we are thankful, because this whole thread made us laugh.
Hey, one can appreciate the consistency. Language is everchanging, that is something we know. This person just decided to single-handedly change it in the most unnecessary, silly way. But again, we would like them to keep going, and for you to keep tweeting about it.
