Those in-between periods before deciding whether two people are compatible are hard. Well, it is definitely a period to remember, or more likely a period we would all love to forget.  In the movies, this is a romantic period which we should cherish for the remainder of time, but in reality, this period sucks. This period is full of uncertainty, doubt, and self-reflection. They say to be yourself, the right person will arrive when you are ready.
