Guy Shocks the 'Hunger Games' Fandom By Equating it to 'Star Wars' and Anakin Skywalker's Character Arc
The newest addition to The Hunger Games movie franchise is the adaption to the 2020 book The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. It was released to theaters earlier this month and it has quickly become a hit, even with the already longtime existing fandom (the original Hunger Game book series came out between 2012-2015 and the novels between 2008-2010). The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is a prequel to the original series and shows important arcs to main characters.
Like many popular stories, it follows "the hero's journey," which is a story telling structure that dates back as far as recorded human storytelling can go. That being said, just because it follows a repeated structure doesn't mean it's not a unique story! However, one guy on TikTok has shook the Hunger Games fandom by saying the new story is exactly the same as the character arc as Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars. What do you think?
