One of the things Twitter is best at is helping us make sense of a current event. Since the timeline is fast-moving and ever-changing, it gives everyone a chance to weigh in on a particular news item. Like this week, we're still hearing EVERYONE's takes/jokes about the Panera charged lemonade. And ya know what? I'm still ready to hear them. I love looking at Twitter during live events like the Oscars- it's like having extra funny friends with you in your living room weighing in.
During the holidays, too, when many of us are sitting down for our similar traditions and rituals, it's nice to have some common ground online. This was the dream of social media once upon a time, right? To connect us? Imagine that. Maybe we'll get back to that utopia one day. For now, we can all get together and chuckle about that viral Senate floor video.
