'Woulda been toast if not for her': Cat named after Ripley from 'Alien' is praised after saving owner and feline sibling from lethal house fire

We often hear of hero dogs saving their owners, but it's not just the canines that look out for their humans. Recently, a cat came to the rescue for a woman sound asleep. This kitty, named after Lieutenant Ellen Ripley from the classic sci-fi thriller film Alien, was able to wake up her human when her cat senses realized a fire had broken out. Ripley jumped on her mom while she was asleep and quickly woke her up. Her mom noticed the smoke and bright light coming from the closet and was able to react quickly thanks to Ripley's warning. The cat was able to get her mom up and alerted 10 minutes before the smoke alarms evens started to go off. Because of this Ripley's mom was able to save them both and her feline sibling Wednesday.

The story she spells out on Reddit truly shows a heroic feline friend who came to the rescue. It also inspired other cat owners in the comments to share stories of times their own kitty saved them from potentially life-threatening situations. It just goes to show you that Lassie probably wasn't the only animal saving little Timmy after he fell in the well. We send Ripley a big round of applause and hope she gets lots of fish and cat nip from now on.
