'My 5 drink a day habit has been vindicated': Study Claims Energy Drink Ingredient Taurine Promotes Anti Aging, the Internet Reacts

Something the media knows all too well is that many of us like nothing more than a story that tells us our unhealthy habits might be good for us. For example, how many red wine drinkers have you heard claiming that it's good for your heart? However dubious the research may be, it's nice to cling to the idea that the things we've been told are bad for our health might have an unexpected silver lining.

The latest substance to get this treatment is taurine, which has been lauded for seemingly slowing down the aging process in animals in a way that may extend to humans. This nutrient just so happens to be an integral part of energy drinks, and it's no shock that the people of Twitter had plenty to say about this interesting coincidence. In case you want to skip the caffeine: a lot of animal protein contains taurine as well.
