"He asked why I just 'let' him go on if I was just quitting. Then ended the call and has been dodging me ever since..".

Put in my two weeks and got reprimanded for not interrupting my boss. Put in my two weeks to my toxic workplace during my first one on one with my team lead. He opened the one on one with tell me we are finally fully staffed and how amazing this year will be for "us".

So a little background: I was promoted two years ago to VDI L2 staff. this came with no pay hike and more work. on Oct 6th I was told I'd be removed from the project and they were moving in someone else. This person had poor phone metrics and an attitude so they were hiding him somewhere to get him away from my managers eyes. During that time I was then removed from the other project and became just a phone agent.

I had decided that anywhere was better than here and started putting out my application. finally got a response for a non tech job (I have been working IT for 16 years and this place broke me. I no longer want to do any type of tech work.). So he opened the meeting with the above and after 20 minutes of him talking through our 30 minute meeting. Oh

and he still didn't have my metric because "they were too good and they wanted to double check everything". I told him I was putting in my two week notice. He got super defensive and told me I had a weekend shift coming up and to please show up. I've never missed a shift without out proper reason and time given to find a replacement. He

also asked why i just "let" him go on if I was just quitting. He then ended the call and has been dodging me ever since. So that my experience with putting in my two weeks. Him acting like I should have interrupted him and "reminding" me to work my two weeks.

hauntedyew. 2 days ago Let that serve as a reminder for why you decided to quit in the first place.

kawaeri 2 days ago Also during those two weeks worm your wage. Nothing extra no more effort. Where I'm at (county Japan), 30 day notice is common. After giving mine I stopped any and all projects I was working on and only did what was required. I was being screw out of so much from them they did not deserve anything from me.

ivegotafastcar. 2 days ago I was in IT for 16 years as well! The company spent my last year doing exactly what yours did! Omg!!! I didn't even give them 2 weeks and they still had me do an upgrade on my last day.

FloridaMiamiMan - 1 day ago They always act like kids when you put your two weeks in. You did nothing wrong, but I'm really straight to the point. If I have an offer, I'm very curt. I don't want to hear their so I would I have said "Hey before you start, I wanted to let you know I'm putting in my two weeks". One on One would have ended early. LOL

Honestly I wouldn't go in anymore. I give two weeks only to jobs that treat me decent at least. Every toxic job I quit it was on the spot. I got a new job, so what if I didn't give them two weeks.

Definitely-Not-Stray 1 day ago It's time for malicious compliance. Every time he says anything, every phone call, every email, just pop in a "remember I've put in my notice and will be leaving in days". It will drive him insane over time.

Electronic-Goal-8141 1 day ago As far as i am concerned, a promotion isnt really a promotion without a payrise, its just higher level work without the respect being given for it.

ChippyTheGreatest 1 day ago ● Two weeks is a scam, especially if you already have a new job lined up. Send him an email saying that since you put in your two weeks notice that his increasingly hostile behaviour has pushed up your end date to the end of the current work day. Hope the best in your future endeavors! Xoxo

vtfb79 1 day ago Two weeks is a courtesy for them. You owe them nothing. If they're upset about it and choose to make you miserable, make the resignation effective immediately and walk out. What are they going to do, fire you?

NotATroll1234 · 14 hr. ago I was warned that giving two weeks at my old job could get me walked out immediately, so I was prepared for the worst. The day I chose to give notice, my supervisor showed up late, and then was on conference calls until about noon. It wasn't until after my lunch before I could even talk to him. He was nice enough about it, and I wasn't escorted out.

However, he and the other members of my department became increasingly difficult to find and were not responding to emails/texts when I needed something in order to do my job to the best of my ability until my last day. I was given someone to train as my replacement, but he only got two half-days with me, so I don't know if I was able to cover everything. Good riddance to that place.

Category Equivalent95 2 days ago ● well he didn't "reprimand" you technically. A "reprimand" is usually when they try to put something into your employee file or whatever. He basically had a tantrum. And your proper response to that is to chuckle, of course.

MercutioMan 1 day ago Send him friendly reminders of his upcoming shifts for the next 2 weeks. Also, them having to double check your metrics as they are 'too good' says everything about thay place. Basically, they want to go back and look for reasons to lower any raise you get based on metrics.
