Movers double customers' cost to move just three items: 'They told me to call the owner'

These workers have to follow all of their employers' rules, whether they agree with them or not. 

For many people, moving is a stressful process from start to finish. As you pack up all your belongings in the space of a few weeks, you start going crazy looking for things you've already packed. At the same time, you're worried you won't be able to pack everything in time for the move! Once everything is safely secured in layers of bubble wrap, it's time for movers to take your belongings. 

In what can only be described as an act of faith, you proceed to let two or three dudes put every one of your belongings in their truck. All of your clothing, all of your furniture, every last decoration and book, are all at the mercy of two college kids in a van. In the space between when the movers leave your old place and show up at your new home, all you can do is hope that your belongings arrive intact.

    ThKing51 I'm a college student who's a mover, I make 15 an hour in the state of AL, and most companys follow that policy charging rates at 115 an hour for 2 movers. Most company's bill like that

    kevin_k Did you sign something acknowledging the 2- hr minimum? Because if he offered you a "spot for 12-1PM", you won't be surprised when I tell you that's only one hour. If he didn't tell you about a minimum, you weren't obligated to pay.

    MjrJWPowell Them not telling you that there was a 2 hr minimum is illegal, I think. I worked at a pool company with a large service department. The service coordinators always told the customers there was a 1.5 hr minimum on all service calls.
