Trying to become a proper adult is hard enough, but it is even harder when you don't have someone by your side to go through it with. That is why I feel so lucky that me and my bestie from high school managed to stay close until now, even at the time we lived in different states. Although she wasn't the best at checking up on me, she always answered my calls, and when she had her holiday break, she immediately booked a flight to come and visit me.
Now we live around an hour away from each other, which is perfect. Even if there are times when we barely get to meet up, it's still nice to be close to her. I don't know where I would be without her.
