'YOU SAVED HER!': Woman saves a dog’s life after discovering it trapped in a crate in subfreezing temperatures; risks her own well-being to be a good samaritan

For a do-gooder, it's hard to walk past a creature enduring a grim situation without offering assistance. Whether we're putting a bird's egg back in its nest, helping a lost sheep find its way home, or climbing up a tree to save a cat stuck in the highest branches, being a good samaritan to animals always brings good karma around. But real do-gooders expect nothing in return when they save a forlorn animal, which is why the woman in our next rescue video went viral. 

Struggling with her own personal obstacles, @cass.perch was just trying to get through the winter with all of her bills paid, but when her car broke down and her water pipes froze in an arctic blizzard, she knew she was in for a long season. However, while walking to the plumbing store, she noticed a dog, abandoned and trapped inside a crate and locked outside in subfreezing temperatures. 

Rather than watch the dog suffer any longer, Cass scooped up the crate, broke the dog free, and without thinking of the personal expenses to protect sweet little Penelope, she brought her home to save her life.

    Reply to janice3g's comment I need an update on this baby as soon as you have one. I appreciate you putting yourself out there to help however you can despite your own life situation Penelope is food reactive if she's eating out of a bowl and anyone comes near her she growls and lunges

    I have to hand feed her and she does fine but earlier I was giving everyone treats and she snapped at my senior dog when he came up beside her which scared him and he was confused

    After I hand fed her this morning I crated her so all my animals could eat just to be safe but she hasn't stopped crying

    ▲ Percy Try feeding her in the crate with the door open and you nearby. This will help her to stop associating the crate with isolation and associate it with you/food while keeping your other dogs safe. 5d ago 1189 Reply
