As someone who is not a parent but has watched a lot of Supernanny, I cannot imagine how difficult it is to get a kid to do something necessary when they refuse to do it. Crying, screaming, and carrying on are the top moves in the toddler playbook, and I wouldn't wish them upon any parent who is simply trying to get their child and themselves to school and work promptly. When they get a little older, say 6-8 years old, this kind of behavior has gone far beyond being developmentally appropriate. If they're still screaming and crying about not wanting to get dressed for school when they're in 1st or 2nd grade, it's time to bring out the big guns. I'm not talking about yelling or hitting; I'm talking about doing exactly what the kid wants and teaching them a lesson in the process. That's exactly what this dad did, much to his wife's chagrin.
