Maintaining a calm and comfortable living space is essential if you live in an apartment with several roommates. Before moving in with someone new, there are a few common rules that one should be aware of in order to maintain harmony. First and foremost,  you must always obtain your roommate's permission before handling any of their possessions. The second general guideline is to always clean up after oneself. Finally, when you're 'entertaining', make sure everyone else knows they have an unexpected guest when they wake up. After all, communication is key.

In the story below, a bitter roommate has had enough. Everything seemed to be going well for OP at first until he found out that his roommate had been rummaging through his things without his consent. OP first thought that any problem could be handled by having a thoughtful discourse. However, it soon became clear that nothing OP said would influence his roommate's actions. And right when OP thought things couldn't get any worse, his roommate transformed from thief to a slob and began hurling used feminine products all over the house, including the kitchen!
