It doesn't get more shady than this. We know that it's tough out there for job seekers and, clearly, plenty of people are attempting to use that desperation to their advantage. However, it is difficult to imagine someone actually falling for a scheme like this.
This thread was posted to Reddit by u/Imaspinkicku, a job candidate who underwent an entire interview process that culminated in an hour-long video call with a recruiter. Evidently, during the last five minutes of the call, the recruiter asked the candidate for a "small investment" of $3750 in exchange for an offer. Of course, like any frustrated applicant in this situation would, OP sent a savage email in response and shared it online for our enjoyment.
