There aren't many places in our adult lives where playing pretend is sanctioned. We're all supposed to run around being "ourselves" all day long, saying boring, normal things and living boring, normal lives. Why do you think people practically froth at the mouth when they get the chance to dress up for Halloween? We're all aching for an escape, however brief, from the monotony of our lives.
But what if I told you that we can have Halloween every week? What if I told you there was a fantasy roleplaying game that thousands (if not millions) of us know how to play, and you can join in whenever you wish, get to be whoever you want to be, and have adventures all the live-long day? You would probably say, "I know what Dungeons and Dragons is. I clicked on this meme list." Touché, friend, touché. Well then what are you still doing here? Get on with it!
