Tweeting these days feels like shouting into the void. But sometimes the void looks like it needs some shouting into. Where else would I put the pointless but slightly funny or insightful rattlings of my inner mind? In a diary? The ears of a friend? Yeah, right. No, I need a place where I can cast off my silly sentences and have anywhere from 2 to 18 people respond to it with a heart. Yeah, that's about my speed.

I've never had a tweet go truly viral, but I imagine it's a rush. You see a couple of likes come in, then a couple more, and soon everybody with a blue check and something to say is chiming in, favoriting it, and hailing you king of the day. But the high is most definitely short-lived, and forgotten in a moment. The epitome of Andy Warhol's "fifteen minutes" rule. Each of these tweets deserves their 15 minutes, or at least their 15 seconds.
