'I'd literally never leave': Woman boasts about not talking to anyone for 72 hours, internet extols virtues of living alone

It's no secret that modern society has a loneliness problem. Commentators will blame everything from the disintegration of the 'traditional' family unit to the loss of third spaces for the fact that many people seem to be less engaged with the wider world than ever. 

While it isn't a pleasant thing to think about, not all of us experience this as a bad thing. Depending on your personality and history, sometimes a dose of optional isolation is exactly what you desire. Anyone who has spent enough time living with roommates knows the difficulties that can come with it, and it makes living alone seem like a luxurious option. 

This seemed to be the reaction to one TikToker celebrating a quiet weekend, with many viewers expressing envy at her position. Admittedly, it's a lot easier to spend that much time by yourself when you have a view as nice as hers.
