Entitled Karen demands delivery driver shovel her snow-laden driveway: 'I left her a message in the snow'

While all customer service is tough due to the challenging task of dealing with the unpredictable members of the public, delivery drivers have it particularly rough, owing to the fact that they have to consistently interact with these same people whose absurd entitlement is amplified by the proximity of their homes. If you thought that Karen was a doozy to deal with at the customer service desk at Home Depot, just wait until you see how she treats the poor bloke who has to deliver something right to her door.

  • This premise held true when this delivery driver, who was working for one of the various grocery shops and delivery apps out there, was tasked with delivery to an address—a standard delivery where the ordered had paid a small pre-delivery tip. It had been snowing heavily, and when the delivery driver arrived at the address of one of their deliveries, they had to trudge through the deep snow of an unshoveled driveway to hand off the goods. Upon answering the door, the customer informed him that the meager tip was payment for shoveling the driveway, which they, of course, couldn't do as they had other deliveries to complete. Instead, they left a fitting (and rather impolite) message in the fresh snow.

    I get done shopping and drive to customer A. Driveway not shoveled and it's a "hand to customer". FML so I park on the road and trudge through the nearly a foot of snow to the front. door and I knock. A woman in her late 20s / early 30s answers the door.     I stood there kind of dumbfounded by the audacity and entitlement of this woman. Then I remembered who I was delivering to for order B, and instantly I knew that this person, customer A, was a low tipper, possibly no tip. So took the shovel and pretended like I was going to do it. I then went to the side of the trailer and behind her car, where I was out of view, and proceeded to write in big YELLOW letters "FU!" and I left the shovel next to it.

    As I'm driving away, I messaged her. "Sorry I can't shovel your driveway, I have another delivery to make. I left the shovel behind your car." She never messaged me back, didn't gave me a bad review, and didn't take the tip away. So maybe she didn't see it, but I'm fully satisfied believing she did. If your wondering how much the tip was for all that shoveling she wanted me to do....$5 TLDR: Woman tries to trick me into shoveling her driveway. I left her a message in the snow.

What got me all worked up about though is the part, where she just ordered OP to do it and then blackmailed him about taking the tip back. If she was polite and really needed help then am sure at least some of us would have - but with that attitude she better had a loaded

    TeamJJ88 OP. 8 hr. ago It's funny you say that cause I have help out 4 or 5 times. They were all elderly and looked like they live alone. If I'm in a rush I'll just shovel a path to their car, around the car, and from the car to the road so they can get out. EVERYONE of them offered me some cash, which I refused. Because, lets be honest, I really didn't do that much. Most took less than 20 min. One elderly lady wouldn't take no for an answer and increased my tip in the app. I only accepted the c

    saraphilipp 11 hr. ago . Back in the day a whole strand of Christmas lights would go out if one light bulb was bad out of 100 Or 500 light strands. I kept broken Christmas lights in my pocket. If you me on a tip, I'd pull out one good bulb on your light strand, toss it and replace it with a bad one.
