Much as most of us don't like to admit it, we owe some things to the conventional working week. It gives many of us a sense of structure and can teach us transferable skills that even come in handy outside the workplace. If we're really lucky, it can also be a place to meet friends as well. While these occasional upsides don't wash away all the bad points, they can sweeten the deal a little.
Another minor non-monetary benefit of having a job is that it allows us to relate to a massive genre of memes dedicated solely to joking about work. Although the majority are just various different kinds of complaints, they are humorous enough to get away with it. Plus, they can give a voice to our own feelings about the downsides of working life. For all that there are some benefits, the negatives often seem more prominent to us.
It was them all along.
You're too kind.
There's a lesson here somewhere.
Wisdom.
It's going to be a heavy morning.
Tired now.
Real slick.
Read the room.
Heartbroken.
See ya!
That won't be necessary.
Young Gen Xers are a trip.
Nice for some.
How dare you.
Cool!
This will surely work.
The difference is staggering.
Need to know.
Such a funny joke!
Withering.
There's no time in the mornings.
Morale is not our strong point.
