When you are a first-time mom, soothing your baby is always an adventure. You're usually exhausted and there is something in your heart that is hardwired to make you have a huge emotional reaction to the sound of the cries. So what do you do? You can read all the books and do all the research, but every baby is different and it might surprise you what actually calms them down.

For this mama, her baby seems to instantly stop crying when she hears the soothing “dum dum” of the Law and Order: SVU intro.

“A minute of silence for our girl, Detective Olivia Benson,” the mom posted along with a video that has now gone viral. It shows her baby crying on the floor like it's the end of the world. But mom sits patiently waiting because she discovered a trick that will instantly soothe her baby. “Wait for it,” she writes in the video. Then all of a sudden, the baby notices what is playing in the background and she turns her head to see what must be her favorite TV show, Law and Order: SVU. The opening credits start rolling, and the baby instantly stops crying and is completely enthralled by the show.
