‘I wake up sometimes after she crawls in’: 15-year-old removes the ladder from her bunkbed after her 5-year-old niece continually climbs up to her bunk in the middle of the night, her 24-year-old sister refuses to acknowledge the safety hazard

When you're used to having a certain amount of personal space, giving that up feels like divorce. That's why the 15-year-old in this next story decides to unscrew her bunkbed ladder after her 5-year-old niece, who recently moved back into the home, repeatedly climbs to the top bunk in the middle of the night and wreaks havoc on her sleep schedule. 15-year-olds need just as much personal space as adults do… so this teen takes her fate into her own hands.

This teen's 24-year-old sister moves back home with her husband and two children, then banishes the teen to the smaller room with the bunkbeds. Now, she's stuck with a 5-year-old with a fear of sleeping alone.

Co-sleeping is a hot topic in the parenting community. Popularly, co-sleeping is frowned upon when children are infants and young babies because the chances of rolling over without remembering they are there are high, and the infants cannot move out of the way themselves. 5-year-olds have a greater ability to move out of the way, but there is still a safety risk involved. The 5-year-old niece not only takes it upon herself to co-sleep with her 15-year-old aunt, but also climbs a tall ladder in the middle of the night without adult supervision.
