Good afternoon, Gene! I do believe you must know that Calling bylaw will only anger people, not save your problems. thought that we had a decent, neighbourly relationship. However, you then tried to have my (insured) vehicle towed from in front of my own home. You must know that that's a $200 fine, + a tow + impound fee. If that had happened to you with a new child, I'm sure you wouldn't be too happy. You never asked me to move, at all. I live literally right next door. I hope in the future, you

9149790 1d Which bylaw were you breaking? You were 2 inches over something? Why does she care, was it blocking something? Why would she have to ask you to move? Reply 44.1k

ruiner8850 • 21h I had a neighbor once call the police and say my vehicle in the front of my house hadn't been moved in a long time and I got a ticket for it. The thing is that I actually had jury duty at the time, so I was driving my car every day. I talked to the bailiff or whoever it was about it and they talked to the judge who got the ticket removed. I always parked in the same spot, but it was a city street and we don't have an HOA, so I'm not even sure how I got the ticket in the first pl

This is the same woman who when I was a kid called the cops about an abandoned bike which was actually my bike in my yard. My sister picked me up from school the next day asking me if "I had lost something" because the police had called my house saying that they had found my "stolen" bike (I had a license on it). I asked where they found it and they said on what turned out to be my street. We knew right away that it was that woman and my parents said something to her and she admitted to it. She

JustALizzyLife • 22h We had someone from our HOA call the county on us over a flat tire. It had been less than 24 hours, we were planning on replacing it the upcoming weekend after pay day. It was the front passenger side tire and the only way you could tell it was flat was if you came onto our property. So instead of ringing our doorbell or just minding their own business we get a letter from the county with a due date to get it fixed. I will never, ever, love in a hoa neighborhood again. Reply

JustALizzyLife. 21h Our bylaws do not allow undrivable cars. It's meant to keep people from leaving abandoned cars all over their yards or cars up on blocks because it's "unseemly" and brings down property value. Unfortunately we have a bunch of bored, nosey boomers on our hoa board who have nothing better to do than report and fine for every little thing.

We came home from the movies one night, about 10pm and there's a car in our driveway and our neighborhood busy body pounding on our door. (She had also called both my husband and I when we were in the movies, but we didn't answer because we were at the movies. ) She wanted to know if the RV, parked completely legally on the street, was ours. It wasn't. She wouldn't shut up. Finally, her husband told her to get back in the car because we wanted to get home (they were blocking our entire driveway

fuelhandler • 18h Sounds like it's time to chat with all your neighbours, and start taking turns calling for wellness checks at 11pm every couple days for Gene. Caring neighbours need to ensure the well being of their neighbour. I'd also look up your municipal bylaws and ensure Gene is in full compliance with all of them. Wouldn't want her to unknowingly be in noncompliance. Greetings from a fellow Canuck in Ontario Canada by the way. by Barstool Sports via GIPHY ... 4 114

iamadventurous • 15h Dealt with something similar. One day i just happen to have a couple friends over for some beers and bbq. They happen to be black, and in a motorcycle club. When they pull up, my neighbor was nosey and poke her head out. I noticed this and had a great idea. I turn around and point to my neighbor and say "thats the one right there". After that, i never got anymore attitude and she would bend over backwards to be nice to me. Reply 416 +
